Antalya City Guide – Akra

The land border of Antalya that is one of the most important cities of the Mediterranean region is formed by the Taurus Mountains. From the west to the east, Antalya province is surrounded by Muğla, Burdur, Isparta, Konya and İçel provinces, while in the south there is the Mediterranean Sea.

When the city in the south of Antalya province was declared a tourism area, Antalya rapidly turned to be crowded. Private and public sector investments got concentrated on the city centre and its surroundings, the employment opportunities that appeared in the result of these investments led to a large influx of people.

Tourism, commerce and agriculture are of premium importance in the economy of Antalya city, along with that the industrial activities have also been greatly improving in recent years. Apart from this, in Antalya, business is also conducted in livestock farming and mining, which are not as widespread as other spheres mentioned.
